Gran Malecón del Río is the most transformative public space Barranquilla has seen in decades: a 3. 1 mi (5 km) promenade along the Magdalena River with parks, bike lanes, walking paths, dining areas, and the Jardín del Río (River Garden). Along the way you'll find the Shakira monument, the Ventana de Campeones (Aleta del Tiburón) honoring the Junior football club, and the Puerta de Oro events center.
Tips: ideal for walking or biking at sunset; there are dining spots along several stretches of the route. Getting there: Vía 40 at Carrera 50, 10 minutes from downtown Barranquilla.
