About this place
Facing the market's caño (tidal channel), this 1935 building once housed the river's administrative offices. Today it's a cultural space explaining how Barranquilla became Colombia's Puerta de Oro (Golden Gateway) thanks to river trade. It has a beautiful public plaza and now houses the Secretaría de Cultura (Culture Secretariat).
