La Troja has been the temple of salsa in Barranquilla since 1966: a venue declared a Cultural Heritage Site of the city that has weathered more than 55 years of nonstop partying, including a 2002 fire that couldn't put out its history. It offers live music, one of the best dance floors on the coast, and local dishes — picada, a shared platter of grilled meats, and kacamak, a traditional cornmeal dish — to go with the party. Tips: arrive early on weekends, it fills up fast; the best atmosphere kicks in after 9 p.
