About this place
Spanning 2,622 hectares (6,480 acres) between the towns of Luruaco and Piojó, it's the fourth protected area in this part of the country dedicated to conserving the cotton-top tamarin (Saguinus oedipus), a species endemic to the Caribbean region. Besides the tamarin, you'll find other monkey species here, including the red howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus) and the white-faced capuchin (Cebus capucinus). The reserve is protected by Fundación Proyecto Tití.
