About this place
Near the town of Juan de Acosta, Salinas del Rey is recognized as one of the best beaches in the world for kitesurfing, thanks to its ocean currents and steady winds that draw athletes from around the globe. Náutica Salinas del Rey, a water sports center built by the Gobernación del Atlántico, operates here. In 2025 it met the technical standard for the Blue Flag award, becoming the only sports-oriented beach in Latin America to earn this certification.
