About this place
A National Cultural Heritage site since 2007, this is the house where the celebrated Romantic poet Julio Flórez chose to spend his last thirteen years, alongside his wife Petrona Moreno and their five children. The house keeps the poet's favorite colors — white and blue — and one of the rooms holds his wife's tomb, at his own request. The museum keeps alive the memory and work of one of Colombian literature's great figures, collecting, researching, preserving, and exhibiting for the study, education, and enjoyment of its visitors.
