About this place
The Centro de Desarrollo Artesanal is a school and workshop space that honors the craft tradition of the people of Usiacurí. Ninety percent of the population weaves — with fiber, wire, and a needle, turning feeling into designs that travel far. It's named after Corina Urueta Sanjuán (1892-1978), Usiacurí's first schoolteacher and a pioneer in exporting the town's craftwork to Aruba, San Andrés, and Providencia.
