Taller de Máscaras de Galapa

At this workshop you can watch master craftsmen carve and paint the masks that parade in the Carnaval de Barranquilla. It's a full immersion in the technique of red ceiba wood and papier-mâché. You can buy original pieces directly from their makers and learn what each animal means in local folklore.
