Set on the foothills of the Sierra de Luruaco, this reserve in Piojó offers a hiking experience for solo travelers or small nature-focused groups. The trails wind through tropical dry forest and let you spot plant species found nowhere else in the department. Temperatures here run about 5 to 7°F (3-4°C) cooler than on the coast.
