About this place
In 2017, it was declared the first civil society nature reserve by Parques Nacionales Naturales de Colombia. Its 42.98 hectares (106 acres) of tropical dry forest, with patches of secondary forest, form an oasis among hills, mountains, and rock formations. It's home to a rich concentration of birds and a wide variety of wildlife: damselflies, dragonflies, frogs, partridges, foxes, squirrels, howler monkeys, and deer, among others.
